High temperature cables
The extreme heat and vibration from ship operations routinely damage organic wiring currently used in severe environment areas. The Navy is replacing critical areas with Silicon Dioxide (Si02) cabling.
Meggitt's Si02 cabling encompasses up to forty wires in a jacket made of stainless steel or nickel alloy metal. The silicon dioxide insulates the wires and provides insulation against heat and damage, providing the crew with cables that survive the extreme environments found on naval platforms. The ruggedness of the cables give sailors reduced preventative maintenance requirements and the peace of mind of knowing the cables will not fail.
